Explore how the right training can impact asset reliability

One of Marlanda’s major projects over 2024 and 2025 has been an asset management improvement project with a tier 2 mining company.
We worked closely with key stakeholders in the organisation to develop and embed clear work management processes that aligned with the newly developed corporate Asset Management Framework (AMF).
Issues with the ERP data caused schedule forecast inaccuracies, creating a flow-on effect of a growing work order backlog, maintenance inefficiencies and inaccurate reporting.

After aligning ourselves with their asset management framework, we provided a hard reset that relied on collaboration between multiple departments. This involved resolving master data discrepancies, creating and delivering role specific training to ensure accurate schedules are produced within their ERP system.
Ongoing support and performance monitoring was provided to ensure the ERP data does not revert to the previous state and that the training was retained. The key advantage of this strategy was to switch from a reactive maintenance schedule to a proactive/preventative approach, by enabling planners to schedule 6-weeks in advance. This had a positive impact on operations, supply and maintenance execution teams.
